Antigua & Barbuda Falcons Get Massive Boost As Amir, Fakhar And Imad Join Them For CPL 2024

The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons have signed the Pakistan trio of Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim, and Fakhar Zaman for their debut season in CPL. Australian spinner Chris Green and Afghan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai are also among the overseas signings.

The Falcons have also made some notable West Indian signings, adding to the team's diversity and local representation. They have brought Brandon King, Fabian Allen, and the 17-year-old batter Jewel Andrew, who showcased his talent while playing for West Indies in the Under-19 World Cup earlier this year. 

The Falcons have already signed 12 players for the upcoming season. They will need to sign five more players at the draft in July to round off their squad. 

The other notable signings for CPL 2024 include Tim David and Jason Roy (Trinbago Knight Riders), Heinrich Klaasen (St Lucia Kings), and Wanindu Hasaranga and Tristan Stubbs (St Kitts Nevis and Patriots).

Debut for the Falcons

The CPL 2024 will see a new franchise in the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. This franchise replaces the Jamaica Tallawahs, which was disbanded after its owners stated that they were not able to run it sustainably. 

Notably, there was another franchise from Antigua in the CPL, the Antigua Hawksbills, for the first two seasons of the tournament, but they were replaced by the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in 2015. 

Antigua will host games in CPL for the first time in 10 years during the 2024 edition of the tournament, which will take place from 28 August to 6 October. 

Barbados, Guyana, St Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago are other venues. The final of the tournament will be played at the National Stadium, Guyana.
