Indian cricket is going through turmoil, and it is related to the growing injury concerns in their camp. As many as four key players are injured, and one of them has been ruled out of the entire England series. As a result, the Indian team management flew Anshul Kamboj to England, and now, the pacer is set for his India debut in the 4th Test match at Manchester.

As per TOI Sports, team management could hand the Haryana pacer his maiden Test cap in Manchester as India aim to level the series. The 24-year-old pacer was a part of the India A squad which featured against England Lions last month.

He impressed with his lines and lengths, but for some reason, was sent back to India. However, with numerous injuries in the Indian bowling department, the fast bowler was flown to the UK, with the intention of playing him at Old Trafford. Under the watchful eyes of bowling coach, Morne Morkel, Kamboj bowled a lengthy spell on Monday, and it seems the pacer impressed the coaching department, which also comprised of head coach, Gautam Gambhir.

Why Kamboj brings to India's playing XI?

For starters, Kamboj is known for his impeccable lines and lengths and has the ability to move the ball both ways, a trait which could be effective in Manchester, where moisture could help the seamers due to relentless rain.

The fast bowler also has a brilliant first-class record, boasting 79 wickets in 24 matches, at an average of 22.88. He also impressed everyone with his skillset in the IPL, and was quickly fast-tracked in the team.

Who will Kamboj replace in the playing XI?

Nitish Reddy is already ruled out of the series, and reports state that Kuldeep Yadav will replace him in the XI. This leaves Kamboj, who is likely to make way for Akash Deep. Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj are guaranteed starters, but Akash Deep had a groin injury in the last Test match.

India won't take any risks with him, and as a result, Kamboj could slot in as the third seamer.
