Jos Buttler Recalls Lancashire History In T20 Cricket
Former England captain and Lancashire’s batting resolute Jos Buttler has urged his teammates to lift up their game and eye on the big prize. Having already booked a place in the third quarterfinal of the tournament, Buttler recalled Lancashire’s consistency in T20 cricket.
While speaking on BBC Radio Lancashire, the senior England cricketer said:
“We've been a really consistent team but we haven't won the big prize enough. We have to find a way to win and the quarter-final is our next challenge.”
Lancashire last won the T20 Blast season back in 2015. Citing their decade-long T20 title drought, Buttler claimed that the team has a history of playing good cricket, only to fail out in clutch games like the knockout fixtures. Jos Buttler urged his teammates to put the past behind in a bid to seize the moment, conquer the knockouts, and finally bring the T20 Blast trophy back home this time around. He added:
“Lancashire has a history of playing well in T20 cricket. We've had a really good side for a number of years so it's important we can make the most of that. We've got a really good team and it's important we drive that forward, try to get into Finals Day and go all the way.”
Lancashire will face Kent in the third quarterfinal of the 2025 T20 Blast season on September 6. The match will be hosted by Old Trafford in Manchester.
