Fast bowler Anshul Kamboj has reportedly been added to the Indian Test squad currently touring England. This move comes after Arshdeep Singh was ruled out of the fourth Test in Manchester due to a painful injury.

Arshdeep hurt his bowling hand during a practice session on Thursday. He tried to stop a ball hit back by batter Sai Sudharsan and ended up with a deep cut. The injury required stitches, and reports say he will need at least 10 days to recover. With the fourth Test set to begin on July 23, Arshdeep will not be available.

Anshul Kamboj Makes Way Into India’s Test Squad

According to The Indian Express, the selectors have called up 24-year-old Anshul Kamboj from Haryana as cover for Arshdeep Singh.

Kamboj recently played for India A in two three-day matches against England Lions, where he picked up 5 wickets and impressed with his pace and control. In his first-class career so far, Kamboj has taken 79 wickets in 24 matches.

Meanwhile, the Indian team is also unsure about the fitness of another pacer, Akash Deep. He is reportedly dealing with a groin injury and didn’t bowl during the team’s last net session.

Akash had earlier left the field holding his waist during the third Test at Lord’s and hasn’t looked fully fit since. His repeated injury issues have been a concern for the team.

Suspense Remains Over Rishabh Pant’s Injury

India’s bowling worries don’t end there. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was also injured during the third Test. On Day 1, he got hit on the index finger of his left hand while trying to catch a delivery from Jasprit Bumrah. Pant was in visible pain and couldn’t keep wickets for the rest of the match.

Not only that, but according to reports, Dhruv Jurel was seen practising in Manchester earlier this week, adding fuel to the uncertainty. The fourth Test is 2 days away, and India appears to be in a fix with injuries.
