Angkrish Raghuvanshi, the opening batsman for Mumbai and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), has been forced to leave the Mumbai Emerging Team’s tour of England because of a thumb injury. He has a small fracture in his right hand’s thumb and had to fly back home for treatment.

The Mumbai Emerging Team started their month-long tour of England on June 28, led by captain Suryansh Shedge. The tour was arranged by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to help young players improve their skills and gain experience playing overseas.

According to reports from Gaurav Gupta of the Times of India, the MCA has not yet named a replacement for Raghuvanshi. The injury, described as a minor fracture, happened during the tour and made it impossible for him to continue.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi is seen as an important young player for Mumbai and in the Indian Premier League (IPL). At 21 years old, he has played 22 IPL matches for Kolkata Knight Riders, scoring 463 runs with an average of about 29. Though his IPL 2025 season was not very impressive, he did well playing for the SoBo Mumbai Falcons, helping the team reach the final.

The Mumbai squad for this tour includes experienced players from the Ranji Trophy, and the team is supported by a six-member staff. Former Mumbai player Kiran Powar is the head coach, and MCA treasurer Arman Mallick is the team manager.

So far, there hasn’t been any official statement or report explaining how exactly the injury happened or if anyone is responsible. The Mumbai Cricket Association has not shared any details about this.
