The thrilling domestic season is coming up soon, as the nation awaits some thrilling action. Ahead of stepping into the season, all the teams are ready for some classic action, aiming for a successful domestic season.

Before the season kicks off, the Mumbai Cricket Association has made a key move by bringing in former Mumbai pacer Atul Ranade as their assistant coach. His addition is expected to add more strength to the team.

Atul Ranade Comes Back As Mumbai’s Assistant Coach

In August 2025, domestic cricket is returning to Indian soil, and fans are on their way to another thrilling season. Ahead of the long season, teams are gearing up well for a successful campaign. Ahead of that, the Mumbai Cricket Association has played a masterstroke.

As per Gaurav Gupta’s report, Mumbai has roped in Atul Ranade as their assistant coach for the upcoming domestic season. Ranade has already represented the state both as a player and a coach. In the 2022-23 season, he has served the team as the assistant coach. Adding to this, he has also served Vidarbha as their assistant coach.

During his coaching stint, Atul Ranade played a key role in Vidarbha’s rise, guiding them to a Ranji Trophy runners-up finish in 2023-24 before leading them to title glory against Kerala in a thrilling final last season. Ahead of the upcoming season, Ranade’s inclusion in Mumbai will add more depth to the team.

MCA Bids Adieu To Prithvi Shaw

Parting ways with Mumbai after years of association, Prithvi Shaw is all set for a fresh start. Moving forward from the state, India’s Under-19 World Cup-winning captain joined Maharashtra for the upcoming domestic season. Obtaining NOC from MCA, Shaw is looking towards a new beginning.

The Indian opener grabbed headlines for the wrong reasons recently. Struggling with form, he was sidelined from Mumbai’s Ranji squad and left out of the Vijay Hazare Trophy team, while going unsold at the IPL 2025 auction added to his woes. With the new move, he will be eyeing a stronger comeback.
