On Thursday, July 18, England will take on West Indies in the 2nd Test of the three-match series. The Three Lions are 1-0 up in the ongoing series as they beat Windies by an innings and 114 runs in the first Test.

The Two teams have arrived in Nottingham and are sweating hard at Trent Bridge ahead of the upcoming match. The 2nd Test will also begin a new era for three Lions, one without James Anderson, who played his last international game at Lord's.

However,  in the latest pictures from Trent Bridge ground, the fans spotted Anderson travelling with the side. Here is why the 41-year-old is still travelling with the England team despite taking international retirement.

Notably, Anderson has taken up as the bowling mentor role for the Three Lions which is why he is seen in the training pictures. The decision was made ahead of Anderson's farewell Test match.

“After the Lord's Test, Jimmy will continue in our set-up, and he'll help a bit more as a mentor. He has got so much to offer English cricket. We don't want to see that go. When we asked him, he was keen. He is going to have a lot of options. English cricket would be very lucky if he chooses to stay in the game,” England’s managing director, Rob Key confirmed.

Anderson is the only seamer in the world to have 700+ Test wickets. Overall, he is the third player after Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan.
