Cricket West Indies (CWI) has named a 15-player West Indies squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Nepal in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Resting several senior members of the team, the board named as many as six potential debutants for the series.

As per the squad, ace spinner Akeal Hosein will be leading the West Indies group in place of regular captain Shai Hope.

West Indies Name Inexperience Squad For T20 WC Prep Series

West Indies selectors have included several emerging players, including six potential debutants, in the national squad for the upcoming groundbreaking three-match T20I series against Nepal, considering the series falls outside the ICC’s Future Tours Programme. The decision also allowed the West Indies selection committee to rest many T20I regulars of the team in a bid to manage their workload.

While Akeal Hosein has been named captain of a relatively-inexperienced West Indies squad, the left-arm spinner will still be accompanied by a handful of seasoned campaigners in the form of former captain Jason Holder, all-format regular Keacy Carty, fast bowler Obed McCoy and T20 globetrotter Kyle Mayers. Here is a look at the entire West Indies squad for the T20I series against Nepal:

The upcoming series between West Indies and Nepal will mark the first-ever bilateral commitment between the two sides, and it will also serve as a testing ground in their road towards the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup.

While the West Indies cricket team gained a direct entry into the tournament for finishing among the top eight sides in the previous edition, Nepal is scheduled to take part in the 2025 Men’s T20 World Cup Asia-EAP Regional Final in Oman next month.

Nonetheless, the three-match West Indies vs Nepal series will be played between September 27 and September 30 later this month, with all matches set to be hosted by the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.
