The buzz around the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 has intensified a lot more as India and Pakistan are set to face off again in the prestigious tournament, this time in the Super Four stage. The highly anticipated clash will take place at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, September 21.

With India already qualified for the Super 4 stage with back-to-back wins over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pakistan, the Men in Blue will play their last group stage match against Oman in Abu Dhabi on Friday (September 19, 2025).

Pakistan, on the other hand, secured their Super Four berth with a 41-run win over UAE. The crucial match was delayed by an hour amid continuing tensions stemming from the now-infamous 'handshake row'.

Controversy Looms Large As IND-PAK Rivalry Heats Up

The last time India and Pakistan met in this tournament (September 14), the match made headlines not just for the result, but for what happened after. Team India’s refusal to shake hands with Pakistan players prompted skipper Salman Ali Agha to boycott the post-match presentation and the PCB to demand action against match referee Andy Pycroft.

Despite calls from PCB chief to remove Pycroft, the ICC stood by its official and Pycroft continued to officiate in Pakistan’s match against UAE.
