Indian speedster Akash Deep has been reportedly ruled out of the Duleep Trophy 2025 season. The LSG franchise might well be parting ways with legendary Indian fast bowler and team mentor Zaheer Khan. In other news, the ICC has sanctioned South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct.

Mukhtar Hussain Replaces Akash Deep In Duleep Trophy

Indian fast bowler Akash Deep has been reportedly ruled out of the 2025 Duleep Trophy season. The speedster has been advised rest by the Centre of Excellence (COE). Since Akash Deep was scheduled to represent the East Zone team in the tournament, the team management has now roped in Assam fast bowler Mukhtar Hussain. Akash recently played three Tests for Team India in the five-match series in England, and picked up a match-winning ten-wicket haul at Edgbaston in Birmingham in early July.

LSG Likely To Sack Zaheer Khan For IPL 2026

The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise will likely part ways with team mentor and former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan. Led by captain Rishabh Pant and coached by legendary Australian opener Justin Langer, the LSG franchise failed to qualify for the playoffs as they secured just six wins and sustained eight crushing defeats during the opening round of the IPL 2025 season earlier this year.

According to a TOI report, the new mentor will be given a much bigger role by the team management of the LSG franchise for IPL 2026 season.

ICC Penalise South Africa’s Corbin Bosch

South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch has been sanctioned for a Level 1 breach of the Code of Conduct by the International Cricket Council (ICC). As per the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, Bosch breached Article 2.5 during South Africa’s comprehensive win over Australia in the second T20I of the ongoing three-match series.

The incident occurred during the 17th over of the Australian innings when Corbin Bosch gave a fiery sendoff to Ben Dwarshuis after the latter’s dismissal. One demerit point has been added to Corbin’s disciplinary record after he accepted the sanction.

Mustafizur Rahman Replaces Luke Wood In Dubai Capitals

Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has been roped in by the Dubai Capitals franchise for the upcoming fourth edition of International League T20 (ILT20). The speedster will be replacing England’s Luke Wood for the tournament. The upcoming ILT20 2025-26 season will also mark Mustafizur’s first appearance in the UAE-based T20 league. A veteran of 289 T20 matches, the soon-to-be 30-year-old has already featured in several prominent T20 leagues like IPL, Bangladesh Premier League, Lanka Premier League, PSL and Vitality Blast T20.

Jason Holder To Lead St Kitts And Nevis Patriots In CPL 2025

Seasoned West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder has been appointed as the captain of the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots franchise for the upcoming CPL 2025 season. The cricketer will be replacing Andre Fletcher, who led the team last year. Holder was recruited by the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots after he spent over a decade with the Barbados Royals franchise in CPL.

Under his leadership, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots will face the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons at the Warner Park in St Kitts in the opening match of the CPL 2025 season on Friday, August 15 as per IST.
