After grooming Gill and Abhishek, Yuvraj Singh mentors Punjab Kings' young guns

Indian cricket legend Yuvraj Singh has donned the mentor's hat yet again, this time for Punjab Kings batters Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya. Yuvraj, who once delivered match-winning performances for India, has now become equally famous for shaping the next generation of cricketers.

Earlier, Yuvraj had trained Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma, both of whom have turned into standout performers for India. The Gill-Abhishek opening partnership has been one of the highlights of the Asia Cup 2025, giving India explosive starts.

Now, Punjab Kings fans have every reason to be excited, as Yuvraj has started working closely with Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh. PBKS even shared a picture of the training session with the caption: “Learning from the OG #YuvrajSingh.”

Priyansh Arya has been making waves in Indian cricket ever since he smashed six consecutive sixes in the inaugural Delhi Premier League. His game drew the attention of Punjab Kings, who signed him for ₹3.80 crore in the IPL 2025 auction.

The young southpaw justified his price tag with 475 runs in 17 innings at a blistering strike rate of 179.24. He followed it up with another good season in the DPL 2025, making 303 runs in eight matches at a strike rate of 166.48.

Prabhsimran Singh, however, has been Punjab Kings' most consistent performer. Having made a mark with 358 runs, which included a century, in IPL 2023, he continued to improve with every season. His best season came in IPL 2025, where he scored 549 runs from 17 matches, including four half-centuries.

If everything goes right, Prabhsimran and Priyansh can follow in Gill and Abhishek’s footsteps in the future. Yuvraj Singh, meanwhile, continues to serve the nation in the shadows, grooming young talent out of free will and sheer passion to help Indian cricket grow.
