Bangladesh opening batter Mohammad Naim’s career-best List A knock has powered Prime Bank Cricket Limited to register the highest team score in the country. Invited to bat first by Brothers Union captain Myshukur Rahaman, Prime Bank achieved the feat in the ongoing season of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.

Playing one of the three matches on a Sunday, PBCC put on board 422/8 in 50 overs at the Shere Bangla National Stadium. Having bundled out the opposition on 249 in 42.3 overs, a mammoth 173-run victory is their joint second-biggest victory (by runs). Readers must note that all their three biggest wins have come in the last two years.

First Team To Score 400 Runs In Dhaka Premier League

Naim, who scored 176 (125) with the help of 18 fours and eight sixes before getting out in the 39th over, could’ve easily become only the second batter to score a double century in the history of the tournament.

In fact, even Soumya Sarkar’s record-breaking 208* (153) was in danger at one point in time. All in all, Naim’s ninth List A century is the fourth-highest individual score in the DPL – second-highest for a PBCA batter.

Naim’s knock played a pivotal role in making his team become the first to cross the 400-run mark in the competition. In doing so, PBCA surpassed India’s record total of 409/8 against Bangladesh in Chattogram a couple of years ago. For the unversed, the third Bangladesh-India ODI is popularly remembered for Ishan Kishan’s record double century. Highest List A innings totals in Bangladesh are:
