With their only ICC Champions Trophy 2025 loss coming against India at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, New Zealand are leaving no stone unturned in order to make amends during the final against the same team at the same venue. The same has been revealed by Shashwat Tiwari in a conversation with ANI.

New Zealand, who have won three and lost one out of their four ICC knockout matches against India, would be looking to return to winning ways after an unfavorable result during the first semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in Mumbai. It is to be noted that all their three wins have come outside Asia.

Kiwi Batters Undergoing Special Drill To Counter Ravindra Jadeja

Tiwari, who considers himself fortunate to have had a go at A-list Kiwi batters, explained how he was asked to bowl from 18 yards to emulate the speed of veteran India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Additionally, he also talked about how the Black Caps faced a bit of a tough time facing leg-spinners.

Today, I fortunately got to bowl. Well, at one point in time, he asked me to bowl from 18 yards just to prepare for Ravindra Jadeja. It is because of the kind of pace he has; he was expecting that kind of speed. We bowled from that point, and we did it nicely. But when he realised the ball was coming too quickly, he asked me to bowl from 22 yards,” Tiwari told ANI.

While the net bowler expressed confidence in the Indian bowlers triumphing against New Zealand on Sunday, it is worth a mention that the same had happened a week ago as well.

India, who have won their last six ODIs against the Black Caps, had bundled them out for 205 while defending a 250-run target. Playing only his second ODI, spinner Varun Chakravarthy had successfully spun a web around the opposition with bowling figures of 10-0-42-5.
