After hosting an ICC event after 29 years, Pakistan had a forgettable outing. After facing consecutive setbacks, they ended their journey in the group stage. After that, the side faced harsh criticism, and Babar Azam’s place in the team came under scrutiny.

Babar Azam Performs Umrah
Despite being the host of the Champions Trophy 2025, the Men in Green had a horrible outing as they ended their journey without a single victory. After that horrific outing in the tournament, the entire side faced immense criticism as fans and expert raised questions on their capabilities.
After exiting from the group stage of the Champions Trophy, the Pakistani cricketers are enjoying their off time before stepping into the upcoming limited over series against New Zealand. With the holy month of Ramadan underway, Babar Azam took a spiritual tour, traveling to Makkah to perform Umrah.
Babar Azam’s brother Safeer Azam shared some exclusive snaps from the spiritual trip. He shared a video where the Pakistani batter was seen enjoying iftar, and Safeer captioned it as ‘Alhamdulillah.” Those moments went viral.
Babar Azam’s Snub From The T20I Squad
In the past few years, Babar Azam has been struggling with his current form. In the 50-over format, his last century came against the 2023 Asia Cup. Even in the Champions Trophy, his bat remained quiet as he scored only 87 runs in 2 matches, which deepened Pakistan’s woes in the marquee tournament.
As the Men in Green is set to face New Zealand in a limited over series, Babar Azam has been dropped from the T20I squad of the series. The management made bold changes, naming Salman Agha as captain in Mohammad Rizwan’s absence, while Shadab Khan takes on the vice-captaincy. With those changes, the team is aiming for a stronger bounce back.
