It's the clash of the titans on Sunday as India takes on New Zealand in the Final of the Champions Trophy 2025. The high-octane clash is being played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

The Men In Blue have been the most dominant side in the tournament as they look to get their hands on another ICC Trophy. Meanwhile, New Zealand, renowned for their consistency, will be eager to be at their best to lift their second Champions Trophy title.

Rohit Sharma's Childhood Coach Backs India

Ahead of what's going to be an eventful evening in Dubai, Rohit Sharma’s childhood coach, Dinesh Lad, has expressed his confidence in the team to secure the title on Sunday. According to Lad, India has displayed remarkable teamwork on the field with every member of the side contributing at some point of time.

“Our team is going to win the match. The team has come this far in the final to clinch the trophy. Every player is stepping up, and it’s not about one individual. From our batters to bowlers and fielding unit, everyone is giving their best,’’ Lad said while speaking to media before the Final.

Looking at India's campaign, they have been unbeaten in this tournament so far with four wins in four games. They finished the group stage at the top of their group and defeated Australia in the semi-final to get through to yet another final.

Rohit's Special Promise To His Childhood Coach

Notably, it has been a below par tournament for someone like Rohit, who has been a consistent performer for India in ICC ODI events. However, he will look to be at his best, eyeing yet another silverware as the Indian skipper.

Speaking about his apprentice Rohit, Lad revealed that before going to the Champions Trophy, Rohit has made a heartfelt promise to him to bring the  title home.

“Before going to Champions Trophy Rohit told me that he will come back with the trophy. Rohit Sharma has led us to victory before, and now, under his leadership, we’re all set to win again,” Lad added.

Coming to the match, New Zealand have won the toss and elected to bat first on what looks like a dry surface in Dubai. At the time of writing this, the kiwis have got off to a good start with Rachin Ravindra leading the charge. India have managed to dismiss Will Young early as New Zealand finished the powerplay with 69 on the board with a loss of one wicket.
