A day before the much-awaited IPL 2025 mega auction, India star and former SRH bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has entered the history books. Notably, on Saturday, November 23, UP took on Delhi in the first round of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which is when Bhuvi piped Jasprit Bumrah for a massive T20 record.
Notably, Bhuvneshwar has become the first Indian seamer to take 300 T20 wickets. He achieved the feat after his first wicket for UP in the ongoing match. Bhuvi took 287 matches to etch his name in history. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah is second on the list with 295 wickets in 233 matches.

Overall, Bhuvi is the fourth leading Indian wicket-taker in T20s behind Yuzvendra Chahal (354), Piyush Chawla (314) and R Ashwin (310).
It is worth noting that Bhuvi, who was once a premier bowling option for India in all formats, enjoyed the tag of leading wicket-taker in T20Is for India for a long time, but has been out of the scheme of things for the past two years.
Bhuvi To Turn Things Around In IPL 2025?
Bhuvi, who is leading U.P, has not played a solitary white-ball match for India since the painful exit from the T20 World Cup 2022. However, he continued to be an integral part of IPL and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Bhuvi joined SRH in 2014 and has been associated with the franchise for the last 10 years.
However, he had a dismal 2024 and was released ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. The right-arm seamer has registered himself for the mega-auction for 2 crores and it is to be seen whether SRH will buy him back. It is to be noted that SRH cannot use RTM on Bhuvi, as they are now compelled to use it for an uncapped player.
