In the ongoing first Test match between India and Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth, the visitors are eyeing their first Test win at this venue. After stumps on day 2, India are 172/0 and have a lead of 218 runs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul were the stars with the bat on day 2 as they stitched an unbeaten opening stand of 172 runs. Jaiswal has amassed an unbeaten 90 (193), while Rahul has scored 62 (153).
Talking about Jaiswal, he was on fire as he whacked the bowlers all across the park. He even broke Brendon McCullum's record of most sixes in a calendar year after smashing a 100-metre six off Nathan Lyon. Further, Jaiswal also hogged the headlines for sledging Mitchell Starc.
Yashasvi Jaiswal's Open Challenge To Marnus Labuschagne
It was not the end of Jaiswal's verbal engagement with Australian batters as another video is making rounds on the net where he openly challenged Marnus Labuschagne to run him out.
It all happened in a playful manner as Jaiswal was out of his crease and tried to steal a single. However, Marnus' quick fielding forced Jaiswal to return to his crease. A hilarious moment occurred as Yashasvi stood still right before crossing the crease and openly invited Marnus to have a go at the stumps.
Labuschagne faked a few throws, and Jaiswal too poked him back by pretending to put his leg into the crease. Watch The hilarious moment between the two.
Jaiswal Bounces Back After Duck In The First Innings
It is Jaiswal's maiden tour to Australia and it got off on a bad note as the southpaw registered a duck in the first innings after falling prey to Mitchell Starc. However, Yashasvi did not lose confidence and has bounced back strongly in the second innings.
It is worth noting that Jaiswal is India's highest run-getter in Tests in 2024 and he also went past Joe Root for most fifty-plus scores in 2024.
