In the ongoing First Test match between India and Australia at the Perth Stadium, Day 2 witnessed a thrilling display of batting as KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal dominated the Australian bowlers with a significant partnership. The visitors ended the day firmly in control, with a significant 218-run lead and all 10 wickets intact.

Labuschagne’s Remarkable Delivery To KL Rahul

One incident that gained significant attention on Day 2 came in the final session, when Marnus Labuschagne turned up the heat with the ball. The Australian spin-bowler unleashed a searing delivery to KL Rahul that left the batter in discomfort. The ball, bowled at an impressive 133.2 kmph, surprised Rahul with its extra bounce and seam movement.

Labuschagne extracted unexpected bounce from the pitch, with the ball rising sharply around the off stump. KL Rahul, trying to defend it, awkwardly defended it with soft hands and a quick adjustment . The sheer pace at which Labuschagne bowled the delivery, coupled with its extra bounce earned a wide-eyed reaction from both players.

Bumrah’s Five-Wicket Haul Dominates Australia

Earlier in the day, India’s stand-in captain, Jasprit Bumrah, led from the front with a brilliant five-wicket haul. His sensational spell restricted the hosts to a mere 104 runs in their first innings. His efforts, along with Mohammed Siraj and debutant Harshit Rana’s contributions, gave India a commanding 46-run first-innings lead.

Bumrah’s performance not only gave India the upper hand but also showcased his leadership, as he set a perfect example with the ball.

India In Firm Control At The End Of Day 2

At the close of play on Day 2, India are in a commanding position, having reached 172/0 leading by 218 runs with all 10 wickets in hand. Australia, struggling to break the opening stand, faces an uphill task to make a comeback in this Test.

As the match progresses, India’s dominant position puts them in the driver’s seat, but with two in-form openers at the crease, Australia will need a monumental effort to stay in the contest.
