Former Australian international and current skipper of Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League 2024/25, David Warner, is one of the most animated and passionate players on the field. This was evident during the ongoing game between the Thunder and Adelaide Strikers currently taking place at the Manuka Oval in Canberra.

During the 13th over of the Strikers' innings, Warner, standing at first slip to leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha, grabbed one to send batter Fabian Allen packing for seven. Allen failed to keep it down as his edge carried to Warner, who took the catch and was overtly elated with the result.

Soon after he grabbed the catch, the veteran jumped in joy as he celebrated the dismissal and, in the process, pumped his fist in full flow with a massive roar that got the crowd going as well.

Sangha got his second wicket of the game and finished his spell of four overs with figures of 2/27 as he also got the better off Alex Ross.

Warner Departs Cheaply Against Strikers

After Strikers ended their innings with 182 on the board courtesy of Jamie Overton's 45 not out and Jake Weatherald's 40 while losing eight wickets on their way, Warner's Thunder started poorly as they lost their skipper cheaply for 7.

However, the other opener, Sam Konstas, started this year's BBL impressively with an outstanding 56-run knock from just 27 balls. As soon as he reached his half-century, Cameron Bancroft lost his wicket, which was then followed by young Konstas departing for a well-made knock.

By the time of writing, Thunder were three down for 77 after the culmination of eight overs with Sam Billings and Oliver Davies still at the crease.
