David Warner Four- (Source:@ScreenGrab)
In the ongoing match between Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers at the Manuka Oval, David Warner marked his return as a captain in the BBL. The former Aussie opener won the toss and asked Strikers to bat first.
The Matthew Short-led side, batting first, put 182 runs on the board. In reply, the Thunder started their innings on a positive note as Sam Konstas, who smashed a 20-ball fifty, smashed a four off the first ball. Further, David Warner too did the same and marked his captaincy return in style with a four.
Warner Reminds Of Prime Days
Warner turned back the clock as he turned righty to hit Short for a reverse sweep that raced for a boundary. Watch the shot here.
Warner Departs Cheaply
However, Warner failed to replicate his part performances and departed cheaply. He scored just 7 (5), which featured a solitary boundary. Warner has been under the scanner for a long time as he also went unsold in the IPL auction.
It looked as if he would fire shots at IPL franchises by playing a big knock, but faltered on his return. Talking about the match, the Thunder have lost 3 wickets for 80 runs after 8.2 runs and still required 103 runs to win.
