In a mix of highs and lows, Rohit Sharma’s presence in the warm-up match against the Prime Minister's XI at Canberra became a memorable experience for his fans. Following Rohit's not-so-pleasing innings, where he was dismissed for just 3 runs off 11 balls by 19-year-old Charlie Anderson, the Indian skipper found himself overwhelmed with supporters eager for his autograph.

Rohit Signs Lucky Fans' Bat

A recent clip shared by the BCCI on their social media platform X (formerly Twitter) showcases a heartwarming moment. Among the crowd was one particularly patient fan who proudly declared he had waited for 10 long years to receive Rohit’s autograph.

As Rohit diligently went about signing various Indian jerseys that fans eagerly presented to him. Amid the cheers and excitement, one voice rang out, "Rohit Bhai, Rohit Bhai, please 10 saal ho gaye yaar (It has been 10 years), Mumbai Ka Raja!" This heartfelt shout brought a smile to Rohit’s face as he turned around to sign the lucky fan’s miniature bat.

During a training session ahead of the warm-up match, Rohit had a light-hearted interaction with another herd of fans. As Rohit was autographing a cricket ball, a fan asked for a selfie. After a bit of playful negotiation, Rohit, slightly amused and perhaps a tad irritated by the haggling, responded, “Ek time par ek hi kaam ho sakta hai” (Only one task can be done at a time).

Despite the rocky start to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy tour, which saw Rohit dismissed early, India had the last laugh. Shubman Gill led the batting charge with a solid fifty, supported by Harshit Rana, who claimed four wickets, along with notable performances from Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj.
