The Eliminator 2 of the Abu Dhabi T10 League was a thrilling encounter as Delhi Bulls cruised to a 42-run victory over Team Abu Dhabi. The Bulls posted an impressive total of 158 runs, while Team Abu Dhabi stumbled to just 116.
A highlight of the match was West Indies cricketer Kyle Mayers, who executed an incredible direct hit to run out English batter Tom Banton, stunning everyone.
Kyle's Exceptional Reflex Sends Off Banton
Tom Banton was having a fantastic day, smashing 73 runs off 26 balls, but his innings came to an abrupt end on the second ball of the 10th over.
After playing a shot back to Kyle Mayers, Banton stepped out of his crease in a natural rhythm to take a run, only for Mayers to quickly collect the ball and aim for the stumps, catching him short off the ground. Mayers' game awareness and quick reflex sent off the English batter with a run out.
Delhi Bulls Secure Commanding Victory Over Team Abu Dhabi
The Delhi Bulls had an exhilarating innings, with Tom Banton leading the charge alongside James Vince, who scored 37 off 20 balls, and Rovman Powell, who added a quickfire 20 off just 6 deliveries.
On the other side, Team Abu Dhabi's batting lineup fell apart early on, with Fazalhaq Farooqi (2/10), Shahid Bhutta (2/25), and Salman Irshad (2/25) tearing through their order. Leus du Plooy was the lone bright spot, making a spirited 32 runs off 12 balls.
With this win, Delhi Bulls are now set to face Morrisville Samp Army in Qualifier 2 on December 2, marking their second straight victory of the day after previously defeating the same opponent in Eliminator 1.
