India and Australia are engaged in an intense battle in the fifth and final Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. While Australia are still in an advantageous position, India are gradually making a comeback in to the match.

The home team are currently stationed at 71/3 in their chase of 162 runs. Australia need 91 runs to win the game and the series in the process. It looks tough for India to win the game, however here are three reasons why India will win the game and hence keep themselves in contention to be in the final of WTC.

3. Momentum With The Team

The Indian team has the momentum of the game with themselves. If they can keep going and working with the same rate of intensity, India might end up winning the game. The fact they have picked up three wickets even after an ill-disciplined start is a huge positive for the visiting team.

2. Rhythm Of The Bowlers

Though the Indian pacers did not make a great start in fourth innings of the game, the Indian bowlers, especially Prasidh Krishna has found his rhythm. In the first few overs, we saw that the bowlers were bowling down the leg stump and conceding unnecessary runs. But it seems, with time the bowlers got an idea of the perfect line and length and started hitting those areas.

1. Virat Kohli Bringing Out The Best From His Players

Virat Kohli is the most successful Test captain for India. He has been brilliant as a skipper in overseas Test. In absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Kohli is captaining the team in this game. He is known as an aggressive Test captain and also brings the best out of his pace bowlers. This will come into play in the second session of day 3 on the fifth day of the Test. If the bowlers respond to Kohli's call India can end up winning this game.
