  • Indian opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi is renowned for his fearless approach and scintillating stroke play. The swashbuckling cricketer hammered 239 runs at an average of 59.75 and a strike rate of 243.88 in the recently concluded Asia Cup rising stars.
  • Suryavanshi has showcased remarkable form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy, amassing 197 runs at an average of 39.4 and a blistering strike rate of 168.38. So, considering his current form and ability to decimate bowling attacks, Suryavanshi is expected to play a significant role for India u19 against their arch rivals.

(Ayush Mhatre's SMAT 2025-26 stats)

  • Mumbai opener Ayush Mhatre sustained a brief lean patch in junior cricket before re-announcing himself with a string of impactful scores in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
  • While Vaibhav Suryavanshi is a proven destroyer of bowling attacks, Mhatre's gusty stroke-play and the art of converting his starts into significant scores make him a perfect opening partner for the southpaw.
  • As evidenced by the above stats, Ayush Mhatre has smashed 325 runs in just six innings at an average of 108.33 and a strike rate of 166.67 in the ongoing SMAT season. So, Mhatre's current form establishes him as one of the Indian players to watch out for against Pakistan.

Khilan Patel

  • Khilan Patel is regarded as one of the most promising spin talents in the country. The left-arm spinner was magnificent with the ball in the youth ODIs against Australia u19, scalping five wickets in just two matches.
  • His ability to hit the right areas and bamboozle the batters with his guile and variations could make him a tough opponent for the Pakistan players.

Abhigyan Kundu

  • Abhigyan Kundu is likely to play as the wicketkeeper for the Indian u19 team in the upcoming Asia Cup edition.
  • He bats in the middle order and is known as India's go-to man in crunch situations. If Suryavanshi and Mhatre fail, Kundu can steady the ship for the Men in Blue and frustrate Pakistan with calculated risks against pace and spin in the middle overs.

Henil Patel

  • Henil Patel is India's frontline fast bowler in the under-19 circuit. He is a right-arm pacer who can trouble the opponents with accuracy and seam movement.
  • Patel can swing the ball up front and his knack for scalping wickets at crucial junctures makes him India's prime weapon with the ball against Pakistan in the u19 Asia Cup.
