Tom Banton attacking Usama Mir (X.com)
On Monday, Tom Banton took the attack to Usama Mir, who was Pakistan's primary spin bowling option in India during the ODI World Cup 2023 last year.
The Englishman struck a goregous six off the leg-spinner when Trent Rockets were up against Manchester Originals in Match 7 of The Hundred Men 2024 at Emirates Old Trafford.
It was a quicker delivery by Usama Mir, and Banton, who began to bat aggressively from the get-go, went for a slog sweep in an attempt to smash a six over deep square leg.
And it connected beautifully, as Banton sailed it over the fence for a half-a-dozen.

At the time of writing this, Trent Rockets are 69 off 47 balls with the loss of two wickets. Alex Hales and Sam Hain are in the middle, with Rashid Khan still to come.
Banton, meanwhile, lost his wicket after smashing three sixes and five fours. He made 45 off 22 balls before Sikandar Raza took his wicket, and made sure he did not get a well-deserved half-century against the Originals.
