The opening match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is just a week away. On November 22, Australia will lock horns against India at the W.A.C.A Stadium in Perth. Ahead of the crucial game, the Indian players are sweating it hard in the nets.

Since Perth is known to have one of the fastest pitches in the world, the Indian team opted for a match simulation practice. During the practice session, several Indian players took nasty blows that ended their net session prematurely.

Virat Kohli And KL Rahul Took Nasty Blow In Intra-Squad Match

Notably, on November 14, Sarfaraz Khan took a nasty blow on his elbow and had to be carried out of the nets. While Khan is fine and fit, India dealt another blow on November 15 as Virat Kohli also took a blow on his body and as per reports, he underwent scans. Further, KL Rahul was also hit on the elbow and had to cut short his net sessions.

In the latest events, a report from times of India, has shrugged off any serious injury concerns for Rahul and Kohli. The report mentioned that Virat is fit and absolutely fine. Kohli has resumed practising in the nets.

Talking about KL Rahul, he took a heavier blow than Virat, and the management decided to give him rest and not take a chance as they are planning to play Rahul as an opener alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal in Rohit Sharma's absence.

Notably, Sharma, who is currently in Mumbai, is expecting a second child with his wife, Ritika Sajdeh. Thus, he is likely to skip the Perth Test.

Virat Kohli Troubled By Mukesh Kumar In The Nets

To prepare for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Series, Indian contingents are playing a simulation match where the conditions will be the same as the first Test in Perth. Kohli played a couple of cover-drives but then played a loose shot and was caught out in the slips off Mukesh Kumar's bowling.
