Earlier today, Pakistan announced a robust 17-member squad for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. Pakistan will cross swords against the Tigers in a two-match Test series on home soil later this month.

Led by Shan Masood, the Men in Green have a well-balanced side, which is an amalgamation of experience and youth.

Regarding Pakistan's squad, Saud Shakeel has been named as their new vice-captain in Tests. Meanwhile, Mohammad Huraira, Kamran Ghulam and Mohammad Ali have also been rewarded for their consistency in the domestic circuit.

So, as Shan Masood and co. prepare for the high-voltage series, let's see what their ideal combination could be for the first Test in Rawalpindi.

Sarfaraz Ahmed to be dropped for 1st PAK vs BAN Test?

Abdullah Shafique and Saim Ayub will likely open the batting for Pakistan, with skipper Shan Masood batting at number three.

Experienced batter Babar Azam will bat at his designated number four position, followed by vice-captain Saud Shakeel and spin-bowling all-rounder Agha Salman.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan is the front-runner for the keeper-batter's slot, given his exemplary form across formats.

As Rizwan will don the gloves, Pakistan will bench veteran cricketer Sarfaraz Ahmed for the first Test.

Regarding Pakistan's bowling unit, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi will spearhead the attack. Left-arm pacer Mir Hamza, who was stellar in the Test series Down Under, is also expected to play a crucial role.

Abrar Ahmed will shoulder the spin bowling responsibilities, as he has been a lethal weapon with the red cherry on home soil.
