It’s easy for any prolific fast bowler to make tailenders look helpless with sheer pace and sharp accuracy. Naseem Shah’s brother Hunain Shah did exactly that on Friday night while representing Islamabad United in the PSL 2024 Eliminator 1 against Quetta Gladiators.

Both Naseem and Hunain, as well as their other brother, Ubaid, play for Islamabad United. While Naseem took 2/33 off his four overs in Islamabad’s 39-run win over Quetta, Hunain could only bowl 10 deliveries. Among them, he unleashed an unplayable peach, which rattled the stumps when Abrar Ahmed was at the crease to finish things off.

Chasing 175, Quetta were never in the game after being reduced to 16/5 early. Akeal Hosein and Omair Yousuf staged a fightback, but it was not enough to turn the tide miraculously.

Eventually they were folded for 135 in 18.4 overs, and it was Hunain who bowled an absolute corker of a yorker to put the final nail in the coffin.

Islamabad will play back-to-back days, and their next opposition are Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi in the Eliminator 2 on Saturday.
