The first Test between India and Bangladesh is all set to start on the 19th of September at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai with both teams looking to grab crucial World Test Championship points. Bangladesh are coming into this series on the back of a historic performance in Pakistan, and it would be interesting to see how they tackle the might of India with confidence on their side.

India, on the other hand, are still the firm favourites to win the series as Bangladesh have never won a Test against Men in Blue. Rohit Sharma and co. are almost unbeatable at home, and would be looking to stamp their authority in this first Test. So, let's now see what combination they would prefer in this match.

The top four in the batting order look more or less settled with Yashasvi Jaiswal opening the innings alongside Rohit Sharma. Gill will bat at 3 while Virat Kohli will fit into this favourite number 4 position. At number 5, India are most likely to go with KL Rahul which means Sarfaraz Khan despite impactful performances in his debut series will miss out. Dhruv Jurel is also likely to face the same situation as Rishabh Pant is all set to make his Test comeback.

Kuldeep Yadav To Be Preferred Over Axar Patel

The duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin will take the spin all-rounder positions and Kuldeep Yadav is most likely to be preferred as the third spinner over Axar Patel. Kuldeep did well in India's previous series against England and his genuine wicket-taking ability has put him bit ahead in the race as India already have Jadeja and Ashwin who can bat along with their world-class bowling skills.

On the pace front, Jasprit Bumrah is a sure-starter while India might make a tough decision to drop Siraj and play in-form Akash Deep in this Test. The Bengal pacer was quite impressive in the one Test he has played so far and also produced an impactful performance in the Duleep Trophy game recently. So, India might be looking to give him more game time ahead of big series like New Zealand and Australia which means Mohammed Siraj might miss out in the first Test.
