The Asia Cup 2025 tournament has become a riveting contest, with just four teams remaining in the competition. On Sunday, India will take on Pakistan in a high-octane clash, and the winner of the game will have a high chance of reaching the finale of the marquee event, that takes place next week.
The four teams in the Asia Cup Super 4 have produced some stellar cricket, but the world wants to see an India-Pakistan finale. In this article, we look at two players from each side who have performed extraordinarily in the Asia Cup 2025 tournament so far.
Players who have been excellent for India in Asia Cup 2025
1) Kuldeep Yadav
The second-highest wicket-taker of the Asia Cup 2025, Kuldeep Yadav, has been a revelation for India in the ongoing event, and the wickets in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have suited his style of bowling. He was a match-winner against the UAE and Pakistan and won back-to-back Player of the Match awards.

8 wickets in three matches, with an economy of less than 6, defines Kuldeep’s tournament journey so far. He was simply unplayable in the clash vs Pakistan, and will be India’s trump card in the remaining matches.
2) Abhishek Sharma
The star for India with the bat, Abhishek Sharma, has been a brute force up top for the Men in Blue with three successive match-winning innings. Especially against Oman, when everyone struggled, Abhishek was a man batting on a different surface, and his numbers tell the story.

He has scored 99 runs, but most importantly, the batter has a strike rate of 225, and this is where he becomes the point of difference for the Indian team. It was his fiery start against Pakistan that ensured that India were at a dominant position against arch-rivals, Pakistan.
Players who have excellened for Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025
1) Shaheen Afridi
Shaheen Afridi’s biggest contribution in the Asia Cup 2025 has come with the bat, and that too, on two different occasions. Against India, Pakistan were struggling to reach the 100-run mark before Shaheen played a gem of an innings and slammed a quick-fire 16-ball 33 to propel his team to a decent 127.
Similarly, in the do-or-die game against the UAE, Pakistan were once again in trouble before he came to the rescue. He slammed 29 off 14 balls and steered Pakistan to a competitive 146/9, which was enough to seal the win and a safe passage through to the Super 4.
2) Fakhar Zaman
Pakistan’s batting has been shambolic in the Asia Cup 2025, but Fakhar Zaman has been a lone shining light. Against India, when others struggled, he counter-attacked a bit, but couldn’t do much. However, against the UAE, he scored a crucial fifty and solidified the sinking innings.

While the other top order batters have struggled for runs, Fakhar has stood tall, and wom them a crucial game against the UAE with his bat.
