The much-anticipated IPL 2024 auction concluded on Tuesday, with the ten franchises finalising their squad for the tournament's upcoming season. Regarding Mumbai Indians, the five-time champions entered the auction with a budget of INR 17.75 Crores, which they used brilliantly to buy ace South African speedster Gerald Coetzee besides the Lankan duo of Dilshan Madushanka and Nuwan Thushara. 

Apart from these three seamers, MI also secured the services of two high-quality spinners- Shreyas Gopal and Mohammad Nabi, alongside uncapped domestic talents- Naman Dhir and Anshul Kamboj. 

So, as Mumbai Indians have assembled their squad, let's see what could be their best possible starting XI in the IPL 2024. 

Top Order- Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma

Explosive Indian batter Rohit Sharma will open the batting alongside Ishan Kishan, as the duo offers a perfect left-right combination at the top. 

Mumbai Indians used Tilak Varma at number five last season, but with Hardik Pandya solidifying the middle order, the stylish southpaw is expected to bat in his preferred number three position this time.

While MI's Mr dependable Suryakumar Yadav will hold the batting lineup like glue, the explosive duo of Tim David and Romario Shepherd are expected to ensure a fitting finish for the side alongside skipper Hardik Pandya. 

The quartet of SKY, Hardik, David and Shepherd provides incredible depth to MI's lineup, making them one of the most fearsome batting units. 

Bowlers- Gerald Coetzee, Jasprit Bumrah, Piyush Chawla, Jason Behrendorff

MI's trump card, Jasprit Bumrah, will likely open the bowling alongside Jason Behrendorff, who was impressive last season. Although Mumbai Indians have Sri Lankan pace sensation Dilshan Madushanka, Behrendorff will probably be preferred initially in the tournament. 

Having said that, don't be surprised if MI decide otherwise, considering Madushanka's stellar journey in the 2023 World Cup. 

Meanwhile, veteran Indian spinner Piyush Chawla will likely play as the solitary spinner, with Shreyas Gopal, Shams Mulani and Kumar Kartikeya as his backups.
