Shubman Gill Dethroned As Babar Azam Reclaims No. 1 Spot In ICC Rankings

In a remarkable achievement, ace Pakistan batter Babar Azam has reclaimed the top position in the recently updated ICC ODI batters rankings. The former Pakistan skipper dethroned his Indian counterpart Shubman Gill to become the number one ranked ODI batter.
Furthermore, veteran English spinner Adil Rashid has moved two places up to claim the top position in the ICC T20I bowlers' rankings.
Rashid's impressive outings in the ongoing series against West Indies have helped him pip Afghanistan's Rashid Khan and India's Ravi Bishnoi in the race. Thus, Rashid becomes only the second English bowler after Graeme Swann to occupy the number one position.
Among others, Tabraiz Shamsi (up three places to ninth) and Akeal Hosein (up three places to sixth) have made noticeable gains in the bowlers' rankings.
Meanwhile, the Test rankings have also witnessed a few notable changes, with Usman Khawaja moving three places up to number four and David Warner (nine spots up to 27) and Mitchell Marsh (12 spots up to 68) making sizeable gains.
Regarding the bowlers' rankings, Australian captain Pat Cummins has claimed the third position, moving one place up in the list. Meanwhile, his bowling partners Josh Hazlewood (up two spots to 10th), Mitchell Starc (up two places to eighth) and Nathan Lyon (up three spots to fifth) have also been rewarded for their stellar show in the Perth Test against Pakistan.
