T20 World Cup 2024 | High-Profile India-Pakistan Encounter Likely To Be A Day Game

Even before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 ended, cricket fans were looking forward to the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States of America next year.

The marquee event will once again pit arch-rivals India and Pakistan against each other, which has left cricketing fans in the Asian subcontinent region mouthwatering. The encounter is likely to be held in New York and could end up being a day match.

As reported by Rev Sports, the last-minute change is due to the time difference between India and the USA, which will affect the broadcasters.

If the game happens on June 9 as sources have stated, the match will start in the evening for Indian fans. However, if the match is a night game, the telecast will be shown during the day, affecting the viewership. 

The report further stated that all of India's group matches will take place in the USA and opted not to travel between Windies and Uncle Sam country. 

Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is expected to release the schedule for the T20 World Cup 2024 sometime this week, which will take place from June 4 to 30 across cities in America and the West Indies, respectively. 

Apart from India and Pakistan being in the same group, the ICC are planning to pit Australia and defending champions England together during the eight-nation tourney.
