Mumbai Indians (MI) Women, after showcasing a commanding performance reminiscent of their dominance in the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL) season last year, has once again proven their mettle in the WPL 2024. With five victories and two losses from seven matches, they became the first team to secure a spot in the playoffs.

On Tuesday, March 12, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, MI Women are set to face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Women in what promises to be an exciting clash.

For the RCB Women, the stakes are particularly high as they face a do-or-die scenario. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians Women will look to capitalize on their momentum, aiming to clinch the top position on the points table.

The opening duo of Yastika Bhatia and Hayley Matthews has been instrumental in providing Mumbai with solid starts, laying the foundation for the innings with their brisk scoring. Their contribution at the top has been vital of Mumbai's strategy, and they are expected to continue their roles against RCB Women.

The middle order, comprising Nat-Sciver Brunt, Harmanpreet Kaur, Amelia Kerr, and Amanjot Kaur, has been nothing short of exceptional. Despite Nat-Sciver Brunt's recent hiccup where she scored a mere 2 off 4 balls, besides a less than stellar bowling performance, her overall track record secures her a spot in the lineup. The team might also consider giving Chloe Tryon a chance in Nat-Sciver’s place to showcase her capabilities but it looks unlikely.

Bowling all-rounder, S Sajana is anticipated to maintain her position at No. 7. The bowling attack, featuring Pooja Vastrakar, Humaira Kazi, Shabnim Ismail, and Saika Ishaque, has been pivotal in restricting opponents and will be crucial in their upcoming clash against RCB Women.
