IPL 2025 is around the corner as the upcoming season of cash-studded league gets underway from March 22 with 10 teams locking horns against each other. All the teams are set and the franchises have also begun their training sessions.

However, with less than two weeks left for the IPL, Delhi Capitals have dealt a heavy blow as Harry Brook has withdrawn from the league for the second year in a year. It is worth noting that DC had bought 6.25 crore during the auction and now his absence has left the Capitals hanging as it disturbs their team combination.

While, Brook is all set to face sanction and might be banned for two years from participating in IPL auction, this article will focus on three players who might follow Brook's footsteps and withdraw from the coming season because of personal reasons.

1. Jofra Archer

The first name that comes to mind is Jofra Archer. The English seamer is returning to the IPL after a year's absence as he last played in 2023. Further, it is worth noting that Archer did not register for IPL 2025 mega-auction and it was until the last moment that he spoke to the ECB and got the permission to register for the prestigious league.

Notably, the ECB wanted Archer to be fit and available for England Test summer, which is why they were hesitant in providing a green-light to the right-arm seamer. However, now England have dealt string of injuries in the form of Mark Wood, which might force ECB to reverse their decision and ask Archer to withdraw from IPL 2025.

Thus, Archer has a high probability of missing IPL 2025 because of national commitments as England have a crucial home series against India.

2. Adam Zampa

Another star player who might withdraw from IPL 2025 is Adam Zampa. The right-arm spinner, who was bought by SRH for the coming season has a history of withdrawing from the league. It is worth noting that Zampa did not feature in IPL 2024 for Rajasthan Royals citing personal reasons.

"There are several reasons why the IPL wasn't for me this year. I think the most important one was the fact that it's a World Cup year and I'm completely drained from 2023," remarked Zampa after withdrawing from the league.

Australia have key series coming up after the conclusion of IPL and that might make Zampa reverse his decision.

3. Mitchell Starc

Delhi Capitals too might need to fear losing another player due to personal reasons as Mitchell Starc is also someone who might not spare a second thought in leaving IPL for national duty. Starc returned to the cash-studded league after a long hiatus in 2024 where he won the trophy with KKR.

Further, Starc showed glimpses of his priority for workload as he withdrew from Champions Trophy squad citing personal reasons. Thus, is it very likely that Starc might also skip IPL 2025 as Australia have key Test series coming up.

Notably, the baggy greens have to play South Africa in WTC final and then face England in Ashes in November.
