Jofra Archer is a talented right-arm lethal fast bowler from England. Born in Barbados, he plays for the English team and grabbed everyone's eyeballs because of his lethal pace and pinpoint accuracy. 

Meanwhile, after coming into international cricket, he found his way into the Indian Premier League (IPL) back in 2018. Then, Archer moved to Rajasthan Royals (RR). Four years down the line, Mumbai Indians bought him at auction. For IPL 2025, Jofra Archer entered the mega auction pool and has reunited with his former side, Rajasthan Royals.

As of IPL 2025, Jofra Archer is associated with Rajasthan Royals. Initially hesitant to be available, the pacer joined the auction pool late as IPL authorities had decided to ban players from mini-auction if they failed to register for the mega auction. 

Hence, Archer was allowed to join the pool at a later date and he attracted many bidders. Rajasthan Royals (RR), his previous franchise, placed the highest bid of INR 12.50 crores to obtain his services for the season.

The ace pacer has played for two teams in his brief IPL career. Rajasthan Royals bought him in IPL 2018. Due to continuous injury concerns, RR also parted ways with him in IPL 2022. Despite conveying his unavailability due to injury, Mumbai Indians took a leap of faith to buy him in the auction. 

However, after Archer failed to live up to the hype, Mumbai shipped him back to the auction in 2025 where Rajasthan welcomed him back.

Jofra Archer’s IPL price has seen a steep increase in 2025. Despite past baggage of injuries, he attracted a lot of bidders during the mega auction held in Jeddah. However, Rajasthan Royals were hell-bent on getting him back. They bid INR 12.50 crore for him and with MI refusing to use the RTM card, Archer was sold to RR for the whooping salary.

The English pacer bowler has always been a popular face in IPL auctions. When he entered the league in 2018, Rajasthan Royals bought him for a whopping price of INR 7.20 crore. In 2020, Archer had a stellar season, picking up 20 wickets in 14 games.However, after he missed a season with an injury, the Royals released him in the IPL 2022 auction. 

This time, Archer found solace in Mumbai Indians. Despite confirming his unavailability for 2022, MI trusted his talent and bought him for INR 8 crore. Archer again entered the mega auction pool in 2025 where Rajasthan Royals offered him a lucrative contract of INR 12.50 crore.
