On Sunday, March 9, India lifted their third Champions Trophy title after they beat New Zealand by four wickets at the Dubai International Stadium. It was a great game for the Men in Blue, but their performance was far from the best.

Ravindra Jadeja Wins Best Fielder Award

India failed to bring out their top game on the day of the final as fans were left frustrated seeing the poor standards on the field when the Men in Blue were fielding first. It is worth noting that four catches were dropped by the Indian stars. Had those chances been taken, the Kiwis might have been reduced to a much lesser total than 251 runs.

Nonetheless, following the success and team effort, the Indian team continued their post-match ritual of handing the best-fielder award. In the latest events, the BCCI dropped the visuals from the dressing room, where fielding coach T Dilip presented the medal to Ravindra Jadeja.

For a change, T Dilip didn't invite someone into the dressing room and opted to present the prestigious award himself that was started by him during the 2023 World Cup.

"He has been showing top stuff in his own bowling. But the way he chased the ball today, getting bullet throws and cutting the angles, it is Ravindra Jadeja," T Dilip said after the match.

It is worth noting that Jadeja didn't had any catch or run-out to his name, but his efforts in the field to stop New Zealand from converting singles into doubles helped him bag this award. Jadeja had a great game in all three departments as he took a solitary wicket and also scored the winning runs for India.
