Colombo Strikers and Dambulla Sixers will collide in match number 10 of the ongoing LPL 2024 season. The much-awaited contest marks the fourth respective outing for both sides this tournament, and will be hosted by the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on July 7.

Colombo Strikers had a rollicking start to their LPL 2024 campaign, upstaging defending champions Kandy Falcons by 51 runs in Pallekele on July 2. 

Middle-order batters Muhammad Waseem, Sadeera Samarawickrama and Thisara Perera all made vital contributions in the middle, before spinners Dunith Wellalage and Shadab Khan claimed eight wickets between them to restrict Kandy Falcons to just 147.

However, Colombo Strikers had their momentum hampered in the very next game by suffering a seven-run defeat to Galle Marvels. After their first two matches, the Thisara Perera-led Strikers unit found itself placed at number three on the LPL 2024 points table. 

A win over Dambulla Sixers at this stage of the tournament might help them jump into the playoffs reckoning.

Dambulla Sixers

Runners-up of the previous season, Dambulla Sixers crashed to successive defeats in their opening two LPL 2024 matches this week. 

After losing to defending champions Kandy Falcons by six wickets, the Sixers also came up short against Jaffna Kings in a last-ball thriller at Pallekele on July 3.

Mark Chapman, Chamindu Wickramasinghe and Kusal Perera have emerged as some of their primary in-form batters this LPL 2024 season. 

While Perera brought down an unbeaten century against Jaffna Kings, New Zealand-based Chapman scored valiant runs in each of his first two innings of the tournament.

In the bowling department, speedsters Nuwan Thushara and Mustafizur Rahman will start out as two of their key fast bowlers in a bid to restrict the Colombo Strikers batting line-up.
