Having already secured a place in the playoffs, Multan Sultans will next be in action against Islamabad United on Sunday (March 10) in Match 27 of the PSL 2024 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

With six wins and two defeats, Multan are placed at the top of the points table. They began the campaign with a hat-trick of victories before Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi handed them their season’s first defeat. Then, they won three matches on the trot again before Zalmi ended their winning streak yet again.

Meanwhile, this will be Islamabad’s do-or-die fixture, having won four times in nine attempts in the competition. Therefore, they have to win this to secure a place in the playoffs, alongside already-qualified Multan and Peshawar.

While Multan have done decently in almost every department throughout the competition, the only area they worry about is the form of Khushdil Shah. In the past, the all-rounder was one of their biggest match-winners, but lately, his bat and ball performances have plummeted.

Yet, there are not too many matches left this season, and at the same time, momentum holds the key, Multan might not take any risk to drop Khushdil at this stage. And, needless to say, he just needs one good match to turn things around in his favour.
