England and Australia are all set for the three-match T20I series and the first game will be played at the Rose Bowl, Southampton on Wednesday, 11th of September. Aussies are coming into this series on the back of an impressive series win against Scotland while for England it is a fresh start with plenty of big names missing out.

There is enough quality though in both the teams to entertain the capacity crowd expected at Rose Bowl, and let's see what could be the playing XI of the home side for this curtain-raiser.

Firstly, Jos Buttler, the regular English white-ball captain is out of the series due to a calf injury and Phil Salt has been named captain of the side. He will open the innings and alongside him, Will Jacks, the swashbuckling right-handed batter is expected to take the top position in the batting order.

Both are power-hitters and their style of play suit perfectly into England's ultra-aggressive batting approach. At number 3, Jordan Cox can fit in and he too can go from ball one, if needed.

All-Rounders Provide Balance To England

He will be followed by all-rounders with experienced players like Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran and young talent like Dan Mousley in the middle order. The likes of Brydon Carse and Jamie Overton would provide firepower in the lower middle order and are good pace options as well.

On the bowling front, Jofra Archer is now fully fit and will lead the pace attack with Reece Topley alongside him.

Also, Adil Rashid is still around with his crafty leg-breaks and will be a key bowler in the middle over against the Aussie side that tends to struggle against spin. Overall, England as always looks strong and well-balanced with plenty of options both in the batting and bowling department.
