GT Probable XI vs SRH [Source: iplt20.com, @RcbianOfficial, @imrajitd, @rohit_balyan/x.com]
The IPL 2025 bandwagon has now arrived in Hyderabad and it brings with it one of the tournament's most in-form teams: Gujarat Titans. After a dismal start in their opener, GT have stitched together two back-to-back wins against powerhouses Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
With momentum on their side, they now face the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday, April 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. But to keep the streak alive and go three in a row, they need to get their playing XI spot on.
Let’s break down what Gujarat’s playing XI could look like in the SRH vs GT PL 2025 match.
Sudharsan And Gill To Open, Buttler In At 3
When something works like a charm, you don’t mess with it. That’s precisely why GT are expected to retain their opening combo of Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill. Sudharsan has been the revelation of IPL 2025 so far. With 186 runs in just three games at a blazing strike rate of 157.62 and an average of 62, he has become the batting pillar GT desperately needed.
His partner at the top, captain Shubman Gill, hasn’t set the stage on fire but has played a solid supporting act. He has scored 85 runs at a strike rate of over 150, and we all know it’s only a matter of time before he finds top gear.
At No. 3, Jos Buttler is expected to walk in. With 166 runs at an average of 83 and a strike rate nearing 173, Buttler has been the steady head in the middle, acting like GT’s pressure valve. If the openers give him a platform, he can tear the game apart in no time.

Rutherford, Shahrukh And Tewatia In The Middle
The engine room of GT’s batting is likely to be manned by Sherfane Rutherford, Shahrukh Khan, and Rahul Tewatia. Rutherford has been GT’s silent assassin: 94 runs at a strike rate of nearly 165 without much noise. Often used as an Impact Sub, he has done his job quietly and efficiently.
Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia, though, haven’t had too many opportunities to strut their stuff yet. Both possess the ability to change the game in an over or two and GT will hope theyare not needed early but if they are, fireworks could be in store.
This is where GT might roll the dice. Arshad Khan has been decent but hasn’t set the world alight. Replacing him with Glenn Phillips would be a move that adds more teeth to the XI.
Phillips isn’t just a power-packed finisher, he’s also a terrific off-spinner and a top-tier fielder. With lefties like Travis Head, Ishan Kishan, and Abhishek Sharma in SRH’s top order, Phillips’s off-spin could be gold dust.
We also cannot forget he is also an ex-SRH player, so he knows a thing or two about the team’s inner workings. And with the form he has been in globally, not including him almost feels like leaving a fully loaded weapon in the dressing room.

Rashid Khan & R Sai Kishore To Shoulder Spin Department
Rashid Khan is in unfamiliar waters right now. Just one wicket in three games and going at nearly 13 an over, stats you’d never associate with the Afghan magician. But if there’s one venue where Rashid knows how to spin a web, it’s Hyderabad.
R Sai Kishore has been GT’s surprise package in the spin department. With six wickets at a miserly economy rate, he has done the holding job brilliantly and chipped in with wickets too.
Siraj, Coetzee And Prasidh To Fire With the Ball
Mohammed Siraj was breathing fire in the last match vs RCB, snapping up three wickets and swinging the game in GT’s favour. His rhythm looks spot on, and he will lead the new-ball attack again.
Prasidh Krishna could be used tactically as an Impact Player, especially if GT bat first. He hits the deck hard and can be lethal in the middle overs as seen in the last three games.
