Gujarat Titans spinner Rashid Khan’s Indian Premier League 2025 seems to be on a downward spiral. Having become the highest T20 wicket-taker less than a couple of years ago, Rashid’s solitary wicket this season has come at an average of 112, an economy rate of 11.20 and a strike rate of 60.

Notably, the ongoing 18th season of the biggest T20 league across the world has been unforgiving for renowned leg-spinners till now. Other than Rashid, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Adam Zampa and Lucknow Super Giants’ Ravi Bishnoi have also leaked runs at 11+ runs per over till now.

As far as IPL 2025 Match 14 is concerned, Rashid registered bowling figures of 4-0-54-0, his joint second-worst in the history of the tournament. Only Titans bowler to not pick a wicket tonight, Rashid failed to adjust to the smaller boundary size at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Introduced into the attack in the 12th over when Royal Challengers Bengaluru were struggling at 80/4, the right-arm bowler got hit for a six and four by Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma respectively in his first over itself.

A relatively cheaper over saw the 26-year-old player giving away nine runs in his second over. With the pressure on the hosts, Rashid was expected to put curbs around their batters but it wasn’t to be on Wednesday.

A 14-run third over saw Livingstone and Tim David hitting him for a six and a four respectively. Well-set by now especially against Rashid, Livingstone was at his brutal best when he hit three sixes off Rashid in the 18th over.

Historically, Rashid has dismissed five batters at an average of 37, an economy rate of 9.40 and a strike rate of 23.6 across six IPL games in Bengaluru. Speaking of this venue, it is worth a mention that his economy rate is the fourth-highest among spinners after Shadab Jakati (10.40), Mayank Markande (9.70) and Parvez Rasool (9.60).
