The IPL 2025 mega auction is just around the corner, and there are plenty of high-profile players lined up to get selected for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. South Africa have most number of players registered, 91 of them and there are some young as well as experienced heads in that list.

There would be quite a few teams that would be targeting South African players in the auction and one of them could be Mumbai Indians who have always backed Proteas talent. So, let's see who could be the three South Africa players that the five-time champions will target in the upcoming auction.

David Miller

Mumbai Indians have retained five players ahead of the auction and four of them are likely to bat in top five. One is Jasprit Bumrah, the pacer, so they would be targeting a finisher who can do the job that Kieron Pollard used to do and David Miller fits perfectly into that role. He is an experienced batter and was pretty successful as a finisher in the last cycle for GT.

The true bounce and fast-paced nature of Wankhede also will suit his game and he would bring both reliability and experience in the lower-middle order. Also, Hardik Pandya has earlier captained Miller in the GT setup and he could play a vital role in bringing back the star batter in the MI family.

Kagiso Rabada

Mumbai Indians have always backed an overseas pace bowler alongside Jasprit Bumrah. In the last cycle, they tried out many options, but nothing worked and they might go for Kagiso Rabada this time around. He would also enjoy the surface in Wankhede which has good carry on it and with the kind of form Rabada has shown in the recent past, he could make a lot of impact.

In eight matches at the Wankhede in IPL, Kagiso Rabada has picked 11 wickets and he can form a formidable partnership with Jasprit Bumrah.

Marco Jansen

The tall South African all-rounder, Marco Jansen has grown in stature in the last few years. He is not only a consistent performer with the ball, but has a great knack of delivering with the bat as well. He can be a perfect option for Mumbai Indians in their search of an overseas lower-order batter and a pacer.

Marco Jansen recently smashed a 16-ball fifty against India too and delivered some impact performances in the last season for SRH as well. So, he is a complete package with both international and IPL experience and MI is bound to bid for the all-rounder.
