IPL 2025: 3 Players RR Will Look To Repurchase In The Mega Auction

The mega-auction rules for IPL 2025 are finally out, and the the buzz around the biggest T20 league in the world is increasing with each passing day. BCCI has allowed six retentions this time around, and it can be done through traditional method before the mega auction or through RTM card in the auction.

Rajasthan Royals, the inaugural champions of the Indian Premier League were pretty successful in the last cycle. They had a solid with all bases covered, but would now have to release some of those quality players because of the auction dynamics. However, we can expect them to try and repurchase the same players in the auction and let's see who can be those three players.

Trent Boult

The Kiwi pacer played a big role in Rajasthan Royals' success in the last few years. His ability to pick wickets regularly in the Powerplay has often given Royals an early advantage. He has taken 45 wickets in the last three years for the franchise and  RR would be itching to get him back in the auction, as it would be hard to retain him due to quality Indian stars at their disposal.

Boult brings with him wealth of experience and skills, and RR would be hoping that they get him back in the auction and he leads their pace attack in IPL 2025 as well.

Shimron Hetmyer

The Caribbean superstar is another quality player who RR would find difficult to retain ahead of mega auction. Hetmyer has been their best finisher for RR in the last few seasons, and has played plenty of match-winning knocks in tense pressure run-chases. Also, the southpaw has the ability to mould his game according to the situation of the match which makes him an invaluable asset.

Hetmyer has also been in great form in recent times with consistent runs in CPL 2024, and RR would surely like to bring back one of the pillars of their batting line-up back for the next season.

Dhruv Jurel

The young wicketkeeper impressed one and all in the last few IPL seasons with his brilliant temperament and skills with the bat. He has also made impression on the international stage and is one of the rising stars who can serve RR for a long time. However, it would be hard to retain him with presence of Samson, Yashasvi, Buttler, Riyan Parag in Rajasthan's arsenal. 

So, the best RR can do is to buy him back in the auction as he provides a good stable option in the middle order and is expected to be one of Indian cricket's superstar in future.
