Notably, according to a report from Dainik Bhaskar, Iyer hid a few bottles of cold drinks underneath his practice kit and secretly handed them over to kids outside the stadium. He was also heard saying that it was too hot and the kids should enjoy it.
Iyer's sweet gesture is doing rounds on the internet as he also faced the wrath of the heat in the stadium, which is when he thought of the underprivileged kids facing the heat and thinks of giving them a cold drink by hiding it under the practice kit.

It is not the first time that Iyer's sweet gesture has become the talk of the town as he previously helped a financially stricken lady with money.
A few months ago, Shreyas Iyer was seen trying to enter his car when fans surrounded him for autographs and photographs. Around those fans, a poor woman constantly asked for help from Shreyas Iyer and the KKR skipper very kindly helped her by handing her some money at the end of the video.
