Rohit Sharma's astute captaincy skills have always garnered praise from cricket pundits and fans around the world. India recently won the T20 World Cup under his leadership and now on the final day of the second Test match between India and Bangladesh, he again came up with a captaincy masterstroke to get rid of in-form Mominul Haque.

India started the day with Ashwin, and on the first ball Mominul Haque went for the sweep shot. Seeing this, Rohit Sharma immediately got the leg-slip in, as in the first innings too, Mominul Haque played lot of sweep shots during his century knock. Rohit Sharma did not employ a leg-slip then and paid the price, but this time he did not make any delay and Mominul fell in the trap.

Mominul's Leg-Side Dominant Play Leads To His Downfall

Ashwin too was very clever in his length and line and bowled perfectly according to the plan. He bowled it around leg and pulled his length back slightly. Mominul, as always, went for the sweep shot, but the length was pulled back a bit, and the ball went off the edge to KL Rahul at leg slip, who took a sharp catch.

Interestingly, in this match, only 16 percent of Mominul's runs have come on the off side and those too were in the mid off direction. Also, most of his runs on the leg side have come behind square ,and India have carefully observed the trend, and have now used it to their advantage with great effect.

Mominul's wicket is a big blow to Bangladesh as he batted beautifully in the first innings and they would now need their other experienced batters to step up, if they want to save this Test match against rampant India.
