The inaugural edition of the Delhi Premier League (DPL 2024) culminated with the East Delhi Riders being crowned the maiden champions. The tournament saw some great talents making a name for themselves and being recognised by the broader cricket community of India. 

The youngsters' displays in the tournament have not only highlighted their potential but also sparked hope for the upcoming mega auction ahead of IPL 2025. Some players have been superbly consistent and have shown brilliant resilience during the tournament, giving a glimpse of the exciting season that lies ahead. 

Here are three players that the IPL Franchises should target during the mega auction ahead of the next season - 

3. Ayush Thakur (Purani Dilli-6)

The right-arm medium fast-bowler was in brilliant form throughout the tournament. He picked up 18 wickets in 10 matches with an excellent strike rate of 12.00. Though his economy was on the higher side, it can be given down to the fact that he mostly bowled the crucial overs for his team. 

Ayush Thakur will bring to the table a bowler who can pick up frequent wickets. His rare Indian bowler status with wicket-taking abilities, which is a rare commodity in the league, could potentially spark a bidding war during the auction, adding to the excitement and competitiveness of the event. 

2. Himmat Singh (East Delhi Riders)

The skipper of the East Delhi Riders gave proof of his leadership acumen as his team lifted the trophy. Himmat Singh led the team from the front, scoring 381 runs in nine matches at a strike rate of 165.65 and an average of 63.50. The batter scored four half-centuries in the tournament and his consistency was something to admire.

During the IPL 2025 mega auction, the franchises will seek a consistent run-scorer. Himmat Singh, who can score runs at a great rate and be consistent with that, would be a high-demand player in the auction if he registered for the event. 

1.Priyansh Arya (South Delhi Superstarz)

The biggest sensation of the inaugural edition of the Delhi Premier League was Priyansh Arya. The left-handed batter scored 608 runs in 10 matches at an average of 67.56 and a strike rate of 198.69. He had four half-centuries and two hundred in the tournament. The consistency and dynamism that Priyansh Arya displayed at the top of the order will make the franchises bid hard for him. A dynamic batter who consistently gives you blazing starts will fetch high bucks in the auction.
