Legendary former India captain MS Dhoni scripted history during the recent CSK vs DC matchup in IPL 2024, bagging his 300th dismissal as keeper in the T20 format, thus becoming the only player in the world to achieve this mega milestone.

A 42-year-old MS Dhoni is still going strong in the IPL despite retiring from international cricket five years ago. 

Moreover, to thoroughly enjoy his final years in cricket, Dhoni handed over Chennai Super Kings' captaincy to prodigy Ruturaj Gaikwad.

That said, while MS Dhoni is nearing the end of term as a professional cricketer, the acclaimed wicketkeeper is leaving his mark by scripting new all-time high records in the books of world cricket.

During a crucial juncture of the CSK-DC matchup in Vizag held on March 31, MS Dhoni caught Prithvi Shaw behind the wickets, thus bringing relief to CSK. 

But at the same time, the ex-CSK captain etched his name in history books with a unique all-time high record.

Dhoni got his 300th dismissal as a wicketkeeper in T20 cricket with Shaw's wicket, becoming the only keeper to have achieved this magical mark.

Notably, MS Dhoni already has the most wickets by a wicketkeeper in T20 format with 209 catches and 87 stumpings. But by surpassing the 300-wicket milestone, he set a new bar for future generations to follow.

Dhoni's milestone of 300 dismissals is a testament to his consistency and durability in a format known for his fast-paced nature.
