Ex-CSK captain and cult leader MS Dhoni made his IPL 2024 season debut with the bat today against Delhi Capitals and served the fans with a classic finishing knock. While CSK lost the game, the Thala fans on Twitter were ecstatic and over the moon to see their childhood hero back in action.

This IPL 2024 season, Indian cricket fans impatiently waited to see the legendary former Indian captain MS Dhoni in action with the bat. 

After two games, the fan favourite ‘Thala’ finally walked out in the middle, with CSK virtually out of the contest against Delhi Capitals. The wicket-keeper once again dropped himself down the order and arrived as the last batter standing.

However, despite the game slipping out of hands, MS Dhoni ensured the fans took back some memories of sheer entertainment. 

Dhoni announced his arrival in IPL 2024 edition with a four. He followed it up with six more boundaries which included three maximums. Thala went after Anrich Nortje in the final over to conclude with a 16 balls 37 runs classic vintage Dhoni knock.

Needless to say, the impatient fans were jubilant witnessing MS Dhoni in his natural element. Many fans shared their excitement and happiness on Twitter and soon the social media platform was flooded with heartwarming messages celebrating Dhoni’s vintage knock.

That being said, despite MS Dhoni’s sensational heroics, CSK fell short of 20 runs in the chase as DC secured their maiden win of the IPL 2024 season.
