IPL 2024, GT Vs SRH Head to Head Record

A rampant Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will cross swords with last season’s runners-up, the Gujarat Titans (GT), at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 31.

Both teams have won one game each in the tournament so far. The Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans managed to snatch a victory from the jaws of defeat against Mumbai Indians (MI) but fell flat against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their second match in Chennai.

SRH, on the other hand, came agonizingly close to beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their season opener but fell short due to Harshit Rana's last-over heroics. However, they annihilated Mumbai Indians bowling to register their first win of the tournament.

While SRH seems to have found a mantra for playing a new brand of cricket under World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins' leadership, which was missing last year, GT looks clueless. Shubman Gill has looked good as a captain on the field, but finding the ideal XI has been a worrisome factor.

Since it's an afternoon game, it won't be a runfest as we've seen quite often in this IPL, with conditions favoring spinners.

This battle will be more about how GT bowlers manage to contain SRH's bowlers. For that to happen, Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore must inflict maximum damage. Pacers will have to complement them, if not by taking wickets, then by applying pressure from the other end with dot balls.

Unlike other teams, there’s not much history between these two teams. When it comes to the head-to-head record, Gujarat and Hyderabad have played only three IPL matches so far since GT debuted in IPL 2022. GT has won two of those, and SRH- one.

This match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, where these two teams have met once before, with the GT coming out as winners.

However, a different result is expected on Sunday afternoon, given the current form of SRH players.

For GT, it’s about showing resistance in order to outclass the opposition.
